Travelling west on Highway 73, follow the signposts to Arthurs Pass. The Broken River turnoff is well labelled on the left, about 14km from the top of the Porters Pass. The access road takes you 6km up through native beech forest to the car park. From there, a goods lift is available to carry gear while skiers walk a pleasant graded track through the forest to the accommodation lodges, which are tucked just inside the forest line. The 15 - 20 minute walk is a great way to warm up for a day of skiing or snowboarding.
