About Alpure Peaks

Alpure Peaks offers the ultimate in catskiing and boarding in the heart of the Southern Alps with fresh tracks, deep powder and no queues with access to pristine terrain similar to that offered with heliskiing, without the price tag and not so dependent on weather.
The exhilarating ride on a Hagglund and Snowcat makes the day around half the cost of heliskiing.

Powderhounds have exclusive access to more than 2,600 ha of private land near Fox Peak ski field, just 30 minutes from SH8 between Christchurch and Queenstown.

Owner operators the Bray family offer catskiing on their land because they saw more people are looking to get away from crowded ski fields and seek out the ultimate snow experience, but price is often a barrier.

Half the fun is journey on the Hagglund and Snowcat with Donald which is why were also encouraging non-skiers to come for a joyride up and down the mountain.

A day out with Alpure Peaks will give the visitor an experience unlike any other. Combine that with stunning scenery and plenty of crisp, clear bluebird days and it's an absolute must do for any adventurer.

Catskiing and Boarding is just like heliskiing except you travel up the mountain in a snowcat, which offers easy access to the same high quality snow as helskiing - for around half the price! The Alpure Snowcat is just like the one you see at a ski resort, except ours has been fitted with a custom built, fully enclosed rear canopy, with forward facing seats. This powerful machine is able to transport you virtually anywhere - AND it also builds jumps with ease.

Your day begins at 8.30 with a briefing at base of access road and you will be supplied with an avalanche transceiver and given full safety instructions.

You board our Hagglund for the 30 minute shuttle ride up the mountain and transfer to the Snowcat which takes you to where you can start your descents. Your guide will help you with planning these, during the journey.

Their aim is to provide as many runs as possible, given snow conditions and the speed of your group. Lunch is around midday with the final run about 3pm.
