The Best Competition I have ever witnessed. The Open was full of all the biggest names in snowboarding and tricks we have never seen before..................

Ive been riding at Cardrona lots these days and this week was the burton NZ open and I have to say that I am stoked to be a part of it this year, as I have never witnessed snowboarding to the level as I saw over the last 48 hours. This is me on the hip having some fun before the comp got going. I ended up making the finals in the slope style and placing 6th. Shelly G got 3rd and was killing in the slopestyle and representing the Kiwis.

Yesterday I took a day off to watch the Half pipe finals and after watching so many double cork 10s 12s and even a 1440 in the slopestyle my expectations were very high for the pipe.  (Kier Dillon boosting)

I was not to be disappointed along with a few thousand others that were watching. About 5 People were throwing double corks with best trick going to Luke Mitrani for his Double Michalchuk first hit about 15ft out!

A few of the Park crew catching there breath up the pipe during a few weeks of crazy hard work.

Big Ups to John Melville who built the pipe.

Mason Aguirre boosting a flat back 5 first hit.

Danny Kass helping a kid grow a beard like his.

Guess Who?

Shaun White said of yesterday's comp “I’m proud to win today. This was the heaviest event that I have ever been in. That’s saying a lot, as I have been in a lot of these. ”
