Time is counting down to my first northern hemisphere races and my departure to Europe. I had some great training between Christmas and the New Year that has really solidified the improvements that I had made during the New Zealand winter.
The first training day of 2010 began with an unfortunate incident involving a sliding car door and my fingers. It resulted in cuts on two fingers, blood blister on one finger and the three unlucky fingers being quite bruised. I was a little worried that I had broken the two fingers that were cut but I can move them somewhat so I concluded that they are just bruised.
After a few more days training I am racing in two giant slaloms at Lake Louise on Saturday and Sunday. I am very excited to be racing at Lake Loiuse because I love the challenge of a race and I have been successful on that race run in the past.
I will be having a hectic night when I return from Lake Louise on Sunday as I fly to Europe early on Monday morning. I am flying LA, London, Geneva and finally driving over the border into France. It is a bit of a roundabout route which is a little annoying and it will be interesting flying through the States given the recent terrorist scares.
