After a very long flight I have arrived in France. My flights sucked, I flew Calgary, LA, London, Geneva and then drove the final two and a half hours to Pralognan la Vanoise where I am living. I also had 5 and 4 hour stopovers at LA and London.
I am really glad to be here and the scenery is amazing. I am super excited to be here as this is my first time skiing in Europe. Since I have been here, I have trained Super G for two days and GS for one day. This was my first Super G training of the season and it went really well. I still have some major points that I am working on over all of the disciplines but I am making the right changes quite quickly.
This is also my first time that I have been in another country for an extended period where a different language is spoken. I do not speak much French at all, but even after a couple of days I am starting to pick up more words and get the general idea of the conversation, even though I don't understand most of what is being said.
Looking forward I have a solid training block right up until the Europa Cup at Courchevel on the 29th of January which is followed by the World Junior Champs at Chamonix/Mont Blanc at the start of February.
That's all for now,
Allie
