At first glance watching me shred down a mountain you may think I am just your normal snowboarder carving some tracks. And to some extent that is true. However, I only have 1 leg! READ MORE...

Bullet proof mornings slushy avo's

As it turns out spring has come a bit early this year. Heaps of sunshine, bullet proof ice in the mornings and slush in the avo's. The T'shirt has been worn already on the slopes and its only mid August!

As mentioned in my last Pro-File blog, things are looking great for my forerun in the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games. I will line up on Monday the 24th August with some of the best boardercross riders from around the world. Although I won't be racing them it willl be great for Adaptive Snowboarding in this country and an honour for me to forerun. I can also compare my time trial against the best I able bodied guys to see how my times stack up. Better get my shred on to make a good time!
It also puts down a good message to the Winter Games organisers that Adaptive Snowboarding should be included in this world class event.

Next month will see me in a number of regional comps, more of a good time than serious competition though!
I am racing the Cardrona Masters Boardercross (yep that's right I am officially a old bugger, qualifying for the masters this year)! I also will be lining up in the Coronet Peak Banked Slalom next month. Hope to give some of the 2 leggers a run for there money.

With the last half of the season upon us, my training has been more focused on freestyle to help with my overall riding skills. Still not sure about hitting some of the kickers at Cardies though a carbon fibre leg! Oh well at least it wont hurt to much if I snap my ankle in half!

Other news! Well been catching some nice fish down the road from my house. Brown trout mostly my very tasty! Not a bad way to spend the days off.

Anyway, get out there and enjoy the rest of the season, cos if this weather keeps up there might not be too much a season left!
