WSF Adaptive Snowboarding World Cup 2010, Mont Tremblant, Montreal, Canada

Finally I have some downtime to sit down and update my blog. Its been another crazy couple of weeks with so much going on. I mentioned in my previous blog that I was training in Whistler BC with Adam Dooney my coach. We had a great time riding/training even if the weather wasn't the best for the 12 days we spent there. On the 29th March we travelled to Montreal Canada on route to Mont Tremblant an hours drive to the north.

Its a strange place but enjoyed it. It has more European feel about the place than Canada and everyone speaks French. Its crazy! Even the resort looks like a small French resort.

Anyway, I was in Montreal only for one reason and that was for the first of two Adaptive World Cup Snowboardcross event in North America. After a couple of days training Friday the 2nd of April was race day. In summer like conditions and I mean it was hot 25 degrees C felt more like wakeboarding on the baked snow!

On the longest and most technical course any adaptive snowboarding event has ever seen I managed to pull in a respectable second place only 0.5 seconds off the top podium spot. That belonged to Tyler Mosher from Canada and 2009 World Champion with a time of 1:34.92 sec followed myself at 1:34.34 sec and Ian Lockey from Canada in 3rd position
I was totally stoked to hear my name called out for the silver after a number of Canadian riders posted good times in the first time trial.

Tomorrow the 6th of April I will line up in the second World Cup to be held in USA at Copper Mountain Colorado. Hoping to improve on my 2nd place last week it will be a tough ask with a massive turnout of American riders. Keep posted for the results on that.

Anyway thanks for reading and keep checking from tomorrow for my results.
