What a way to start the Wanaka Season...

Yeowwwwww, what can I say, Treble Cone turned it on yesterday for what was a truly awesome opening day. I think the couple of pictures below tell the story.

What a way to start the season in Wanaka with some freshies and a few of ya good mates. We rocked up to TC around 8:30 and waited in the café for lifts to start turning. The home Basin was sweet for a warm up with some runs down the Powder Bowl before the Saddle opened after 10am. and once the Saddle opened it was all on.

Who would have thought that the first day would have been full of face shots and some big pow turns. Altho I didn't manage to make the first tracks being about the 20th person on the lift I cant complain. I just wish I wasn't working today to make the most of Cardrona's open day today. No worries Snow Park is calling tonight!!!
Was totally stoked to make the open day at TC and cant wait for what looks like a great season ahead.

I would also like to take the time to thank Base NZ in Wanaka for including me in their 2010 Freeride team. Awesome one guys.
Its local businesses like this that make my on going goals that much more achievable.
You can check out their awesome selection of snowboards, skis and all other sweet stuff on their Website. www.basenz.com

In the mean time, I will be at the Snow Sports New Zealand awards night in Queenstown tomorrow and have been nominated for 2 awards
‘Snowboarder or the Year' and ‘Adaptive Athlete of the Year'
Looking forward to a great night and to catch up with everyone.

See ya soon.
