Atomic International has been in town with Daron Rhalves and Chris Benchetler so Shaker and I had the honours to join them and the Atomic crew for dinner. Even though the restaurant didn't quite have bowls big enough for 20 of us they managed to find some mixing bowls to serve mass quantities of curry in... Welcome to NZ!
A couple of the boys made it into the shop to not only sign our WALL OF FAME but to let us get a few pics....

The big boys have headed out of town already but a couple of the younger guys & gals including Eva Maria Patscheider and Benny Mayr are still here to compete in the Volkl NZ Freeski Open and the Winter Games. They stopped by the shop to get some tuning done on their skis so we couldn't resist a photo.

Congratulations to Geoff Small and Janina Kazuma who held strong for the Kiwis in the Volkl NZ Freeski Open big mountain final on Saturday at The Remarkables. They both had massive runs and proved that they were a class above. Three of the Racers Edge Freeride Federation Team members including Mikey Austin, Nicola Campbell and Sam Lee got in to the final also so congratulations to them!!
Other Racers Edge Federation team members Jossi Wells, Amy Sheehan and Lyndon Sheehan are also competing this week in the pipe and slopestyle events, so be sure to follow this footage and watch for the double flip! Best of luck to them and we will be cheering you on from the side line.
The saddle at Treble Cone has been closed due to isothermal snow conditions making it unsafe for skiers.... but now it looks like Jack Frost has reared his ugly little head and we are almost back on track..!!
Thats about it for Wanaka at the moment but will keep you updated on the results of the Volkl NZ Freeski Open and the Winter Games.
