So I got to check out the NZ Open and the Winter Games Slopestyles. It was way harder being sidelined than I thought it would be, but I helped out, got to ride the sleds and ended up having a good time.
First up was the NZ Open Slopestyle and I was really keen to see how the women's competition was progressing. Dania Assaly and Anna Segal were all over the big kicker with 900s and Lincon Loops respectively. Dania had the money run and claimed first prize with Anna finishing up second.
The Winter Games Slopestyle was four days later and once again the girls did not disappoint. Anna was stand out of the day, her switch 5 was so smooth and she was the only girl to attempt the up/down box transfer and to get inverted with her Lincon loop, both of which she greased. The judges agreed, and Anna took it home. Congrats Anna and Dania!
Last week I had my second knee operation, its called a Revisit Reconstruction of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). Anyway it was pretty standard - Surgeon said it all went smoothly and as planned. I've had virtually no pain, I've already got lots of movement back and the swelling is almost gone. So I'm feeling really positive about a full recovery and skiing again next season!
Now for Springtime. Enjoy!
