NZ Snow Sports Awards

The highlight of our week was the NZ snow sports awards which was held in Wanaka.

So from the last post a series of events have happened out the week. Base 2 Wanaka official opening party which lead to a night of fury at the Mint Bar after party. Then, a sweet week of riding TC with the best coverage in years - the consequence - the chutes beckoning some EPIC shredding.

The highlight of our week though was the NZ snow sports awards which was held in Wanaka. A great night to head out dressed to impress (black tie - a rare occasion in sleepy ol Wanaka). The highlight of the night was the guest speaker Mark Inglis - mountaineer, researcher, winemaker and first double-amputee to reach the summit of Mount Everest. It was a very inspiring speech.

Big shout out to Adam Hall world number 2 disabled slalom skier who took Snow Sports New Zealand's Athhlete of the year for 2009. Jossi Wells was named freeskier of the year and Shelly Gotlieb won snowboarder of the year. good shit guys. props to you all.

Pretty stoked on Janina for being in the running for free skiir of the year - especially for receiving the loudest applause when her name and achievements were called out
So got a heavey weekend planned with the "JaninaKkuzma' Free Ride Camp running up at Broken River - still room for last minute applicants!

Hope everyone is enjoying school holidays... we surely are enjoying the crowds flowing into town.
