Alright so it was not a perfect Heli day, but just getting up and having a fly any where around the southern lakes is breath taking. in-fact i would go as close to say one of the best views in the world. I met up with Kiwi skier Hayden Seddon and we drove from Wanaka out to the access road for Treble Cone. We got suited and booted and then we were ready to jump in the chopper ( Squirrel b2). This is where I should tell you about deep snow, blue sky and steep Gnarly terrain. Unfortunately due to the combination of really flat light, high winds, sun baked snow from last previous days and the ever so dangerous unstable snow conditions, the guides made the sensible call to pull the pin. we did get two runs in but snow conditions were variable to say the least. All was not lost though and the guys at southern lakes heliski put on a mean feast for us.

Just take a look for yourself!
Alright, so last night we loaded the old BASE van (Betty) and took a trip over to Queenstown for the 2009 Parklife Invitational rail Jam. with the line up of Dane Tudor, Leigh Powis, 3 of the 4 Wells boys, Matt Soundy and many many more, things were gunna get messy....
It was an awesome event and clear that a lot of time, sweat, blood and tears was put into the mix. With the combinations of a good set up, being directly on the lake front and an estimated crowed of over 4,000 spectators over the course of the evening made for a great night.
Here you can see what it was all about, but just want to say a massive 'good on ya' for Jossi for coming in 1st. (But then again when he was mistying out of the down flat and front flip onto the stairs just to name a few, who else was it going to be?)
Anyhow, the only result i know is Jossi Wells won top skier!!!
Till Next Week,
Peace Out Rabbit.
