The chairlifts and lift queuing areas at the South Island’s largest ski area Treble Cone (Wanaka, New Zealand) will be becoming ‘smoke free’ areas from the 1st of September.

The decision to make these areas smoke free has been made by the Treble Cone management team in an effort to provide a more pleasant environment for non-smokers and particularly the growing number of families enjoying Treble Cone.

As of the 1st of September, guests will be asked to refrain from smoking in and around the lift queues, and whilst on the chairlifts at Treble Cone.

The outside seating area of the Plaza will remain available to smokers, whilst the second outside seating area known as the Sun Deck which is already smoke free will remain so.

Through the expansion of kids programmes, a more visible mascot TC Cat, the introduction of the Jazz Kids Fun Trail, increased promotion of free beginner lifts, and more family friendly initiatives such as free helmet rental for kids, and the creation of a child specific trail map in 2013, Treble Cone is working to ensure the fun and family friendly environment.

Treble Cone thanks both local and visiting guests for their understanding and support.
