Hey guys, Blogging from up North - Yes, its safe to say, Ruapehu still Rocks and certainly lived up to its old nick-name, "The Magic Mountain".

This last week with 5 out of 6 blue bird days to report so far! Ngauruhoe and Mt. Taranaki looking so cool too - totally covered in heaps of new snow!

Great to get back to my "roots" and hunt out some favourite runs on the Knoll Ridge face, the Gut, the Valley and even the Far West opened up on Saturday.

Been having an awesome first week of the school holidays up here, with very small queues on-piste at Whakapapa - only crowds in the car park to deal with!

Love all the "old school" outfits and some very bright, retro one pieces to liven up my days and remind me of the good old times here on Ruapehu back in the early ‘90s... such a one-off "kiwi" look which I miss a lot when I am skiing in Europe!

I have to congratulate the team at RAL for getting a new Knoll Ridge Café up and running for this season in record time and the coffees are great! Also, have it on good authority from some of the old timers on the mountain that the Breakfast Bacon and Egg burgers at the refurbished Schuss House café on Hutt Flat are not to be missed!

Have fun,
Sarah J
