10cms of light dry wind effected pow yesterday. On-piste should be a dream, off-piste will be variable (which is a nice way of saying ice-drift-ice-drift).

Take car on the roads, the usual ice patches on the plains and chains for 2WD on the mountain road.

Manganui is looks SWEEEET today with 15cm of light dry icing sugar. The T-bar is operating this morning and with clearing conditions the top tow will probably open later in the day.

Those adicted to the bright lights of Queenstown have only 5 more days to wait until Coronet opens!! The long range forecast is not looking to shabby at this stage with some unsettled weather passing through on Firday and clearing into the weekend.

Easing conditions today should make way to about four days of cold clear conditions as a high moves in from the Tasman. For those of you that aren't burdened with the weekly grind, expect wind effected pow at Hutt & Mangnaui this week. My bet that on-piste will still be your best bet for a while yet.

Children of Winter is on at the Octagon this weekend in Dunners. Get in there, out of the cold, and moisten the appetite with this great new movie. The tour hits Riccarton next weekend and The Embassy in a fortnight. Don't miss it, or you'll have to wait for the DVD & Bluray.
