WELCOME TO THE NEW SNOWCO!! At 3:28pm on July 1st 2009 we finally upgraded our software!

Bear with us as we fully populate the new website in the upcoming weeks. WELCOME to our new Pro-Filers; Charlie Lyons, Tom Dunbar, Wiked Edge Promotions in Ohakune, Deni Bevan, Luke Potts, Sarah Jarvis, Ella Spittle, Maria & Janina Kuzma and the Clinton-Baker Family (Pete is President of the Snowsports Instructors Alliance). All here to give Scotty a run for his money no doubt. Remember that anyone can write for us. If approved we will publish your snow related article in WHITEOUT.

New snow on the ground and more on the way!! Yahoo! It's that time of year when the storms come through at one or two a week and with a good base already on the ground in most places expect the snowpack levels to be creeping ever upward.

The AMEX Queenstown Winter fest is continuing all week with in town parties and on-hill events. Check out the complete program here.  Some great events tomorrow to look forward to are the Speights Dog Derby and the Speights Dog Barking comps. There are enough on-snow, mardi gras, black tie, jazz, balls and brunches than you can wave a stick at right through until Sunday. Not to be missed, or if you did, put it in your calendar for next year.

Snow conditions for this time of year are primo, it is astounding how much early snow fell in June this year. Snow bases are way above normal with a good amount forecast in the next three days.  The season kicks off fully this weekend for the beginning of the school holidays with the exception of Craigiburn which will follow the rest of the industry on the 11th. Be sure to send us your snow photos here, we will pulbish the best one's on the Snowco Shot of the Day.

FORECAST: There is a front moving in from the west that will make landfall on Thursday night. This will bring SNOW to both islands on Friday and Saturday. A bit of a spoiler for the first day open for many but conditions should improve somewhat on Sunday... at least in the South Island (Te Wai Pounamu).  Another low move out of the North Tasman and will bring unsettled conditions to the North Island (Te Ika a Maui) on Sunday.
