About Helipark

HeliPark is an environment for free-skiers and riders to train or play in powder, and for photographers and teams to work in successfully. It's another world first for NZ.

Helipark is heli-accessed free riding in 660Ha of incredible backcountry terrain. You pick your own lines, you decide how many runs. We do safety and lunch. HeliPark is an environment for free-skiers and riders to train or play in powder, and for photographers and teams to work in successfully. It's another world first for NZ.

Visitors buy the HeliPark access pass for just $325. This includes the first run. The helicopter flies all day, dropping groups into different spots. You pay $75 per lift and ski as many or as few of those runs as you wish. If you do fifteen runs that's fine. If you want to take a break to build a kicker or eat some cake, that's cool too. It's your day and your budget.

Heli Park is at Mt.Potts, near Methven. We used to cat-ski here but all those lines we couldn't access were starting to bother us. This is our solution.

How does it work?
You buy a Heli Park access pass which gets you onto the mountain and includes lunch and your first run. Each time you get into the chopper for another run a HeliPark guide clips your pass. You settle up back at base.

What's the terrain like?
Heli Park's operational area is 660Ha of incredible backcountry terrain. It varies from steeps and tight chutes to wide open powder bowls, gullies and drop-offs. There's terrain to suit everyone from first time powder riders to seasoned pros on photo shoots.

Is it crowded?
No. We take a maximum of 22 skiers and riders up each day so that there are fresh lines for everyone and a happy sharing vibe.

Base: A helipad on the doorstep? That's hot.
Mt.Potts lodge is Southern Alps Heliski and HeliPark base camp. Set in stunning mountain scenery and located a handy 10metres from the helipad, it's a chalet in the Alps with a New Zealand twist. All overnight stays include a three course evening meal, cooked and continental breakfast and overnight accommodation. All linen and towels are supplied. Rates are per person per night.
