Hi yoll looking to do few trips down from Papakura
to ruapehu prob stay in turangi possibly oakune.
probably have 2 seats defiantly have one will update closer to dates.
car is a trusty 93 sub legacy will have racks and boot space.
just split the over priced gas dependent on how many people come probably 4 max but will considerer 5.
last year stayed at random back packers in turangi mi mi all good bit of a freky dude running the joint but all good spot with Kitchen, drying racks, fire place, sky tv, spa, lord of the rings pantings on the walls lol, Local Drinking est 5 min walk (the 4 Fish). and did I mention its dirt cheep.
welcome to tag along and grab yourself a room(have book will post info closer to fields opening). and depending which sides on we can all head from there.
note: Im not a scyco, hill billy red neck, stalker, gangster wana be.
Just an average dude thats keen to shreeding by day and saving a bit of coin for the bar by night.

I'll def be keen for some trips down, am in the mighty Papakura myself... would you most likely be planning weekend trips? Got the luxury of working shifts so can work weekends to get the weekdays (no-ques on the mountain) off and vice versa

Yeah prob some weekends and weekdays getting season pass so be doin a few missions.
prob some long weekends too go thursday night and come back monday.
Ill keep you posted on dates.
Probly flag the opening avoid the hords.
never busy on opening weekend unless there is a sh*t load of snow.
first trip down july 1st if snow on the mt.
will have info for backpackers soon.

Im in Karaka SA, whenever it dumps I will do day trips to Turoa, as you probably know Ruapehu is only worth skiing on a freshie day. I normally leave at 4am and return that night. always keen to fill the car up with fellow avid powder hounds!
