Carpooling Auckland - Turoa

Anyone keen to go down midweek to Turoa to avoid the crazy weekend crowds. Will split accommodation and petrol cost equally depending on the number of people travelling down. I drive a fancy V8 with leather seats so preferably if you have a 4WD or car it would be better or I can use my wife's Caldina wagon that will fit 3 humans + gears comfortably. I'll be keen to carpool weekends, got a slow, noisy but economic 4wd! Can take possibly 2-3 others.

I'm keen on a carpool to either Turoa or Whakapapa once west opens. I've got a Mazda 323 could possibly fit 2 others plus gear without bottoming out too much. Or would head down with others and share costs.

Will looking for bodies post July 20th to fit in the Hilux Surf(Deisel).Runs to Kune' and split accomodation also maybe......The 4WD takes Room 3 easy plus heaps of space for Gear. (That is if no one minds sharing with a mad Scotsman!)

Hey there NO_XQS, wish I could this coming Mon, Tues! I just went down (albeit school holidays) and scored last Fri/Sat - primo weather apart from the crowds! Don't know that I can do a lot of mid week. I work full time and study part time... assignments due etc... boo hoo! But am thinking maybe weekend of 25, 26 and maybe the Mon 27 July, weather dependent. Looking to split petrol and/or accommodation costs. If anyone else is interested also?????

dam didn't realise this site had forums... looks like i missed out on your trip NO-X, but for anyone planning future trips i'm always down. Have a really flexible schedule atm, not starting back at uni until end of september so keen for any form of trip be it a weekend/midweek or even a day trip down. I don't drive/have a car but always keen to chip in for gas/accom/food and sht like that, pretty easy going... more or less just starting out snowboarding after being on skis since i was a youngin'.

I'm contemplating this weekend and possibly the Monday... but prolly make decision tomorrow/Thurs - providing I can get accommodation. I just joined a Lodge but am waitlisted for membership but I can book in as member but pay non-member rates which is still pretty good and includes 3 meals. The downside is that they expect you to confirm the Monday prior to the weekend - so I thought I'd take my chances if I decide to go and see if I can get in - if I can't lesson learned and next time maybe book in earlier.. blah blah. Not sure the weather maps are looking that flash for the weekend though.

Just got a Bluebird text on my cell from the team at Ruapehu. Wed-Fri is looking perfect. Anyone keen to split cost to Turoa let me know. The plan is leave Wednesday morning about 6ish, in time for 1/2 day, board Thursday and Friday. Leave Friday evening, back in Auckland for dinner time. Split petrol and accommodation cost. Text or call me to discuss details 021-72 95 72.

Anyone keen to split petrol and accom would be good. Got spot for one more person (Joshbosh) is the other person. I drive a fancy V8 with leather and big wheels, so if you have a more appropriate 4x4 or wagon would be appreciated...not too keen to put chains on my wheels text 021 72 95 72
