For those of you who haven't heard yet, CR Johnson passed away today in an accident at Squaw Valley.

He was a legend in skiing, first person to land a 1440, and this is such an incredibly cruel blow... he had only just got back on top of his game after a 2005 injury that almost ended his career, would have ended the career of a less determined person.

This sucks, another of skiing's pioneers lost. At least he died doing what he loved.

RIP.

what a random accident. slipping off rocks above light towers at squaw. thats skiers left of headwall and was probably the only exposed, rocky bluff 2 weeks back when i was there. only 26 too. so thats the man who pushed fatskis and the guy who pushed twin tips and going big both gone.
