Woohoo, finally got to see a musculo-skeletal specialist.

I have a shagged rectus femoris where the muscle joins the pelvic bone.

At least now I know what it is!

Now all I have to do is get it fixed.....

my point is you make stuff up about about the north. come south for powder yeah ok ive found not much but ice at cp. tc is the only place I've found decent powder down there the others southern lakes field are nothing special most of the time. Coronet peak has tones of ice, cardrona sometimes good but to easy remarkable can be ok but flat.

One of my best powder days just happens to be at whakapapa after a week of ice at cp. Last year turoa shut on 8th novemver and the 16th nov in 08.

how can you not like corn? sure it's not powder but ruapehu spring snow is awesome.

sure ruapehu is sometimes shut, but it is not nearly as often as you make it out to be. If you can get up midweek there are heaps of fine days in the season. plus no bad weather = no snow.

yawn same record as last season impreza. you've been raving ever since i pointed you in TCs direction.drop elevator or hourglass chutes at remarks and tell me how flat they are. I have no idea why you always go on about the southern lakes either, for the 107th time i live in canterbury. From memory BR had about 2 closed days all season
All im saying is you can have your september corn, we will still be skiing pow off the spring NW storms.
you guys get so defensive, yet half the time you moan yourselves about the weather, crowds, stolen boards etc. turn it up mate
1st day ridng last year may 12th hiking 1m fresh. last day october 5th or 7th riding 20-30cm fresh at BR

your the one that likes to moan about everything. it got a bit warm last august and your were constantly moaning even though there were still some great conditions around, you were moaning about the ice early season even though there was much better cover than most years. Sure remakrs has some nice stuff but most of the field is a learner field and the steep bits are short lived.

or you just haven't experienced the good snow at ruapehu. Ruapehu does get deep powder but you have to be there right after it falls.

11th july last year around 1 meter of untracked powder on the whole west ridge in the middle of the school holidays and no one there. The two previous days half a meter to a meter of of powder everywhere off trail on the knoll ridge side.
You have to know where to go to find the powder at ruapehu as they tend to compact it all on the runs most people know.
It was as deep as at tc after the big dump in early September except it was fresh tracks all day rather than once.

Those were damn good days... but at the same time, once you've experienced PROPER deep blower pow it's like... eh...
I've never had the whole world go white while you choke on freezing white smoke at Ruapehu. Japan... that's another matter. You know you're in deep when you can't get your legs together because of the amount of snow getting funneled between them.
You don't ski Ruapehu for pow. You ski it for its accessibility and sweet terrain.

3 weeks in Japan cost me roughly $5500 I think. I didn't keep track too closely but it was cheaper than I expected. Package deals for Japan are worth it, not so sure about western countries where you can wing it and scam much more easily
Got maybe 17 days skiing for my dollars. Pretty high dollar/run rate but hey, it was soooo worth it.

I could have spent less inCanada if I didn't go wild in the last week in bars and restaurants (self catered up till then). $20 for a glass of really bad wine (alcohol tax on top of ski resort prices). So switched to cider.
The place I was staying at in Japan did breakfast (or what they thought Euros ate for breakfast - cold broccoli with 1000 island dressing anyone?). I ate it all as was generous and it meant no need to buy lunch (bought my own supply of peanut slabs for snacks). Then ramen bar at night. Beer from vending machine. Not a lot of fresh fruit and vege. Lots of deep fry - friend gained a heap of weight living of a Japanense takeaway diet (not skiing it off though).
