The closest town is Fairlie. Fox Peak is 198km from Christchurch, 300 from Dunedin and 98 from Timaru.
From Christchurch, travel through Geraldine to the Farm Barn (café at the top of Mt Michael) and follow the road past Lake Opuha and Monument Corner to Clayton Rd.
Travelling from Fairlie, head towards Geraldine and turn left at the Fox Peak sign. From the Clayton Rd gate it's 15kms to a spacious car park situated on a knob above the learner and intermediate tows.

Lift Info
Four rope tows total over 2km in length provide you with a fabulous 580 metres of vertical lift - the highest in the region. Any patron will be willing to assist you operate the nut crackers correctly to ensure you will soon master them and that have access to many exciting club ski and boarding areas.
Skid row: Length: 75 metres Vertical lift: 10m. This is safe for children, sunny and close to the car park.
Meadow: Length: 700 metres Vertical lift: 210m. This tow has a moderate speed that climbs an ascending gradient. It is great for warm ups and developing skills. This too is close to the car park.
Tasman: Length: 700 metres Vertical lift: 300+ m. This faster steeper lift gives you quick access to several exciting trails including: Happy Valley, Shirt Front, North Slopes and South Slopes. You access this lift from the Meadow.
Apex: Length: 700 metres Vertical lift: 250 m. From the top of the Tasman, this tow takes you over the high ridge and gives you access to the exciting upper trails in the South Basin and North Basin.

About Fox Peak
Four rope tows lift you 580 vertical metres up the mountain giving access to huge uncrowded slopes.
The rope tows are well maintained and there are always friendly, helpful people available to assist you in the art of using the nutcracker. Nutcrackers and overgloves are available from the canteen. Our canteen/ticket office offers drinks and snacks.
FOX PEAK'S NEW PLATTER LIFT
This new lift extends the well known lower Meadow making Fox Peak available to families and groups with rope-tow haters among them. Despite this, the club hopes to maintain its relaxed family atmosphere avoiding crowds and queues.
MOUNTAIN ACCOMMODATION
Fox lodge is situated beside the access road 3 kms below the ski field and is set in a pleasant tree sheltered location. It provides bunk accommodation for up to forty people, with family room options. Fox Lodge is well appointed with heating, drying room and hot showers ensuring a warm convivial atmosphere for après ski relaxation and other activities.
THINGS THAT MAKE FOX PEAK DIFFERENT
This field is operated by keen volunteers. It is just over an hour from Timaru and has a great friendly family atmosphere, heaps of space exciting trails and warm congenial overnight accommodation. Your car parks right beside the beginner area so handy for a rest and lunch break. Apart from the new platter there are 3 rope tows giving you an enormous 580m vert challenge.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Fox Peak Ski field is a club owned and operated. Public are always welcome to enjoy its lodge and its skiing and boarding during the season. Members receive lift and accommodation discounts in return for their contributions and anyone can be a member. The field is on remote private land, North West from Fairlie, making security necessary when the field is not operating.
MEMBERSHIP
Everybody is welcome to ski at club operated fields and share in their unique benefits of freedom, camaraderie, exciting trails and alpine accommodation in this alpine playground. Through membership of the Fox Peak Ski Club you obtain over 50% off lift fees and accommodation plus discounts at other club operated ski fields.
