Nelson Ski Club was formed in 1944. The access (or lack of it) makes Mount Robert and the operation of the Nelson Ski Club unique. It is run on a volunteer basis with the Club members expected to pitch in on summer maintenance work parties and to generally assist with the duties during the winter. Non-members are always welcome to stay at the comfortable on-field lodges that accommodate up to 60. Bookings for Saturday overnight accommodation are essential. Although members have preference, non-members are most welcome and must book in by 8.00pm on Thursday evenings for the upcoming weekend.
