New Zealand Snowsports Council

(SSNZ)

SSNZ is the national body representing national snow sports associations and regional associations not otherwise represented through a national body, formed to organise and promote snow sports.

Snow Sports New Zealand is a member of the international ski federation and the New Zealand Olympic Committee.

The association provides its members with affiliation to these international bodies in order that members can compete in fis sanctioned events and be involved in the Olympic movement.

The organisations involved include:

Canterbury Snowsports Association

Disabled Skiing New Zealand

Freeskiing Association of New Zealand

New Zealand Cross Country Ski Association

New Zealand Snowboard Association

New Zealand Speed Ski Association

New Zealand University Snow Sports Council

Ski Racing New Zealand

Coming under the umbrella of ssnz members have the opportunity to implement development programmes for their particular disciplines, develop recreational programmes and present a united snow sports voice to the media and sport service organisations. Member bodies also affiliate to the New Zealand snowsports council through the ssnz umbrella.
