Skia ora %%First Name%%,

It is the shortest day, there is snow aplenty, the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival kicks off tomorrow, there are two southerly storms on their way and all is good in the world. Well perhaps not but we are LOVING this early season snow.

It has been a mixed week with more snow falling right across the country. The temps have been great for making snow as well so in most areas the snow is creeping up the snow stakes. This weekend Whakapapa will be opening Happy Valley and limited trails on the Rockgarden for riding. The Express will open for sightseeing only and the Knoll Ridge Cafe will be open.

Porters, Roundhill, Ohau and Cardrona will also be opening this weekend with the remainder of the ski areas opening in two weeks time for the start of the school holidays. YES, they are only two weeks away so you'd better get organised! Snowpark has just announced that they're shooting for Monday 25th for their delayed opening. Snowfarm has had to push their proposed opening date out; we'll let you know when they make an announcement.

The new Snowco forecast link to for the next five days is SNOW! A cold front will move onto the south coast by tomorrow night and make itself felt in the North Island later on Saturday. There will be a brief clearing in the South Island on Sunday. So; North Island best on Saturday, South Island best on Sunday. We're going to get another southerly flick on Monday and then more of a good kick on Tuesday with the southerly flow lasting well into next week. It is going to snow for the AMEX Queenstown Winter Festival!! Oh, and if you're there, don't miss Warren Miller's - Like There's No Tomorrow.

TAKE PART WITH US THIS WINTER. The Snowco forums are buzzing with comments and commentary. Oh and you REALLY need to like Snowco on Facebook to get the latest right to your wall. If you are looking for the most cost effective way to ski or board this winter check out our ski pass page where you can see a comparison of what the commercial areas, and club fields charge and then link directly to the ski areas pricing page. See if a multiday pass is a better option than a package deal.

Get into it, take care and have a blast.
