Mt Hutt opens this weekend. Cantabrians who prefer lift access will be salivating and checking out the forecast every half hour over the next few days. It looks marginal for opening weekend but good enough to get yourself up there. No, or light winds will mean that opening day isn't in doubt, just a little damp. Periods of rain for Saturday will be replaced with snow and increasing winds on Sunday. Similar conditions will prevail at Coronet this weekend.

To our internet polls. 67% thought that Predict Weather has it right this season with heavy snow to low levels throughout the entire winter. Our new poll; Nzski.com (Hutt, Coronet & The Remarks) staff now have a no smoking on the mountain clause in their contracts. Is this fair? VOTE NOW.
