Skia ora %%First Name%%,

GO EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALALND !! 8 - 1 YOU BEAUTY !!

Oops, sorry about that outburst. Couldn't help myself. Firstly a quick change; my comments about this weekends' weather are now down this page in the weekend weather section.

It's getting warmer and daylight saving is only 10 days away! The recent nor-westerly winds have taken their toll with Hanmer, Cheeseman and Roundhill having called it a season and, Fox Peak and Manganui looking like paddocks. Craigieburn has also announced that it will pull the plug after this weekend.

It's not over yet though with all of those spring events; with Bikinis, the pond skims, the multisports and the bakeoff's, so much going on. In case you didn't know Spring is absolutely the best time to go riding. You get to sleep in (to let the snow soften) and then ride consistent soft snow for the rest of the day. Warm conditions and long light evenings make getting off the hill at the end of the day that much more pleasant.

Proposed Closing Dates: Please note that these dates are snow permitting and subject to change.
22nd September - Craigieburn
29th September - Treble Cone, The Remarkables
6th October - Tukino, Rainbow, Temple Basin, Dobson, Ohau, Cardrona, Coronet Peak.
13th October - Mt Hutt.
28th October - (Labour Weekend) - Whakapapa & Turoa: RAL - "It is likely that Turoa will stay open longer"
Broken River doesn't set a date, they stay open as long as there is snow.
Manganui will open again if the get snow and Fox Peak allow access at this time to get to the snow on their higher slopes.

We have a winner! Corona and Snowco just gave away this snowboard to Fynn CB from the top of the South. Fynn gave us an extensive answer as to where he'd rather be which we deemed as the best answer received. This Burton snowboard with classic Corona branded top-sheet is 157cms long and valued at $680.Fynn's off to Uni in Dunners next year so it should come in handy for him. Congrats Fynn and a big thank you to Corona!!

WEEKEND WEATHER

A low pressure system in the Tasman Sea will move slowly east to sit just west of the South Island by Sunday. This will product an unsettled nor-westerly flow over the country from tonight until late on Sunday. Freezing levels will be about 2700m in the north, 2000m through the centre and 1600m in the south. Ski and board areas in the north and west will be most affected with those in Otago being more sheltered from this storm. The strong winds in the most affected area will cause the most disruption to your weekend plans whereas riding in Otago this weekend will be OK (hat and goggles) with only light winds in the forecast.
