Haven't our athletes been doing well at Sochi!! No, really they have. Check out links to the New Zealand Winter Olympic Team's social media and results to keep up to date with the athletes.

It was ladies first with our fantastic four snowboard slopestyle girls (Christy Prior, Shelly Gotlieb, Stefi Luxton and Rebecca ‘Possum' Torr), our snowboard halfpipe girl (Rebecca 'Bex' Sinclair) and our one lady Freeskier (Anna Wilcox) competing in their various discipline. Our awesome foursome all made the semi-finals but didn't quite make the finals. Shelley finished 15th, Stefi 16th and Rebecca 18th with Christy retiring before the semis injured after a crash. Anna Wilcox duplicated their result, not making the finals but finishing a respectable 15th. Not bad when you think that this 21 year old Aucklander has only been competing in Slopestyle for two years... she'll be back! Rebecca Sinclair just missed the cut for the snowboard half-pipe final and finished in 21st place.

Jossi was our big medal hope in the Slopestyle and anything other than perfect was not going to cut it which turned out to be true because all the medals scored in the 90's. Jossi's dad and coach Bruce had said that Jossi would either come first or last, he did not go to Sochi to come forth. One Jossi's first run he lost speed before the second jump so just finished the run with some easier tricks. In the second he caught an edge on the rail so skied the entire course switch. Even when basically not continuing when he blew it and placed a record 2nd= best result for New Zealanders at the winter Olympics behind Annelise Coberger's Silver medal in 1992. His brother Beau-James came a respectable 21st. You know he's only 18 right. We look forward to seeing him, (and Jossi & Byron) at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in 2018.

We are loving the coverage of these games and hope you are too... can't wait for winter.

The ski areas are working hard behind the scenes maintaining'and upgrading their facilities for the 2014 season. Check out developments at The Remarkables both on the mountain and on the access road, and Treble Cones upgrades.

Snowco has enjoyed bringing you that latest snow industry information since 1995. There was only 18,957 websites on the web when we started) and we're pretty proud of that. We hope that you will joining us this winter. You can find a little about our history here...
