Skia ora *|FNAME|*,

OMG!! Have you seen how much snow has fallen. I am sooooo happy for you all. Have a run for me this spring as I won't be... see the site for details. Well there is just 10 days left if you want to ski or board at The Remarkables or Treble Cone. Most others will shut their doors a week later at the end of the first week of the school holidays (Sun Oct 5th). Traditional exceptions being Mt Ruapehu, Mt Hutt and some of the club ski fields, snow depending. School holidays and daylight saving are just two weeks away. With this new snow, some ski fields have remained closed but some fields have decided to re-open for the school holidays. Check out the snow reports and closing dates for details. Key dates: Sat 20th - Election Day; Sat 27th - Spring School Holiday begin; Sun 28th - Daylight Saving begins; Sun 5th October - traditional closing date for most ski areas.

Remember to vote this Saturday. The forecast is pretty crappy for Saturday but if you are going up for the day polling booths stay open until 7pm, if you're up for the weekend, get in and cast a special vote today.

There is still heaps of events in the calendar this spring.
On Now: Burton High Fives, Talk like a pirate day at Mt Hutt & The Remarkables - expect craziness from the staff. ANC (Australia/NZ Cup) Alpine Super G and Slalom Combined races at Mt Hutt.

Feature Event: Burton High Fives - The third annual 2014 Burton High Fives presented by MINI returns once again to Cardrona Alpine Resort in Wanaka, New Zealand from September 14 – 20th. This six day invitational event kick starts the 2015 Burton Global Event Series. On top of being a truly one of a kind event, this event provides opportunity for international athletes to earn 5 star World Snowboard Tour points as well. This year’s unique competition brings together 60 of the world’s top pro and rookie snowboarders for halfpipe and slopestyle contests, along with Kiwi-inspired adventures throughout the Wanaka area. New for this year, much more importance will be placed on the results from the entire team, more to come on that. Here’s a brief rundown of what these invited riders can expect at Burton High Fives.
