Young children will love the new lift on the dedicated kids’ slope at Coronet Peak this season, according to Ski Area Manager Hamish McCrostie.

Installed at the Queenstown ski area over the weekend, the 24 metre Sun Kid surface conveyor lift is designed especially for very young beginners.

Mr McCrostie said the new lift was part of a complete upgrade to children's facilities at Coronet Peak this year.

"The dedicated kids' slope attached to the crèche area has doubled in size so there's more room for the young ones to play around on and the new lift makes learning so much easier," he said. "It's also super user-friendly for little kids as the base of the new lift is just metres away from the crèche door."

Mr McCrostie said the children's area now catered for babies as young as three months old right through to teenagers up to age 17.

"The fully licensed Skiwiland Early Learning Centre is a great option for families with young ones and our dedicated Snowsports programmes for youth will offer fantastic fun and learning for all ages," he said.

Coronet Peak is scheduled to open on Saturday 6 June.
