The first ski and snowboard comp up at Mt Hutt is set to go this weekend up at Mt Hutt.

The first round of the K2 Parklife Mini Shred competition, which takes place in the Dirty Dog Stomping Ground Beginner Park at Mt Hutt, is open to freestylers of all abilities aged 16 years and under. The second and final round also takes place at Mt Hutt on 20 September.

Head of Terrain Park Dave Nurse and his terrain park crew have built up a perfect park for this event with 2 jumps, up flat box, flat box, rainbow box, down bar and a drum bonk.

"This will be a wicked first time event for the age categories and an epic chance to ride the dirty dog stomping ground and win some great prizes" said Dave Nurse

There are three categories in the competition - Under 16, Under 14 and Under 12 - for both male and female skiers and snowboarders with a range of prizes from K2, Sessions, Smith Optics, Nikita Clothing as well as a Mt Hutt season pass for next season!

Registration is free and there is a $20 refundable bib deposit. Competitors only need to turn up on the day and register in the café at the events notice board in the base building between 9:00am and10:00am to secure their slot in the competition. Helmets are compulsory.
