Fifty four girls proved that it isn't just the boys who know how to shred the slopes when they hit The Remarkables as part of the Nikita Chickita Girls' Camp yesterday.

In a fun-packed day of ski and snowboard coaching, fun racing, Nikita goodie bags, tubing, and a champagne breakfast, the sold-out Nikita Chickita Girls' Camp proved a complete hit with the girls, who learnt new skiing and riding skills under the watchful eyes of eight female ski and snowboard pros.

Lisa May, organizer of the camp and Nikita rep, said the day was a success, and that she was looking forward to the next one.

"Everyone had amazing fun and left with big smiles. The whole point of the camp is to push boundaries in a pressure free environment while having a great time and that's exactly what happened."

"Girls ride differently to guys and so specific tuition in a relaxed environment can really help progress. It was great to get the girls off the sidelines and in amongst it in the terrain parks"

Jenna Lollis from USA said it was just what she needed to progress.

"I can't believe how much fun it was. Everyone was in the same frame of mind - just here to push their limits - and the groups were small so we were all behind each other. The races were fun and there were loads of prizes from Nikita," she said.

"I'll definitely take part in the next Nikita Chickita camp - the support from the female pros is fantastic. They know how to tweak our skiing and riding and prove that nothing is impossible."

There are still places available on the next camp which will run on September 13 2009, but early booking is advised as it is likely to sell out.

"This camp was sold out which shows how many girls are interested in developing their riding" said Lisa May. "And spring is such an awesome time for this sort of camp, we recommend people get in early to avoid disappointment".
