For three days from Saturday 26 September, plenty of free activities and prize giveaways for all ages are on offer climaxing in a gravity-defying, awe-inspiring FMX display on Monday 28th.
The Remarkables Ski Area Manager Ross Lawrence said the carnival would be a great way for families to kick off the school holidays.
"This weekend is set to be a cracker! There will be free tubing, face-painting, treasure hunts, lollie scrambles, balloon throw, a kids' obstacle course and live music among the events," he said. "Our sponsors have sorted us out with heaps of freebies and the FMX display should be spectacular."
The FMX display on Monday will see some of Australasia's top FMX riders including New Zealand's Blake O'Conner and Bossa Mikkelson riding alongside Aussie number one Kain Soul who's known for tricks such as Superman, backflips and no-footers. Weather permitting there will be four 20-minute displays on Monday at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1pm and 3pm as well as rocking tunes to complete the event.
Over the three days prize giveaways include product from Export 33, Sessions, Red Bull, Smith Optics, K2, Nikita Clothing, Quiksilver and Meadowfresh.
Alongside giveaways and free activities, there will also be a Pond Skim at 12pm on Saturday for only $5 entry to compete for a cash prize, and a Dowhill Dummy race on Sunday, with free entry and a $200 New World food hamper up for grabs.
Mascots Spike and Shred will be out and about on the day ready for photographs with the kids. And as always, children aged 10 years and under receive free day lift passes at The Remarkables.
For the duration of the carnival (26 - 28 September) NZSki transport will be free for everyone when departing from the Queenstown Snow Centre.
