The Salomon Snowboards Scholarship presented by NZsnowboard.com will commence this winter with the search for young talent to compliment the existing New Zealand team.
Working with our stable of world-class athletes we hope to offer the talented young snowboarder support, instruction and mentoring as well as hardware from Salomon Snowboards and outerwear from Bonfire.
Robett Hollis from NZsnowboard.com will be a lead mentor and Mt Ruapehu & Cardrona Alpine Resort are offering a 2011 season pass's for the lucky winner. There's also lots of spot prizes to be won.
This as on opportunity not only to scout for fresh talent but also to support young snowboarders in New Zealand. Internationally, Salomon Snowboards aims to support grass roots events and this is definitely in that vein. The final segment of judging will be held at the Junior Nationals. We hope that this will highlight the Junior Nationals and get even more young riders involved.
The format for the competition will be kept simple - entrants upload a video segment to NZsnowboard.com , finalists will be annouced on 5th September 2010 and second round of judging will be held at the junior nationals with the winner announced at the prize giving ceremony.
