The Academy is for children, aged 10 and over, who are intermediate to advanced skiers or snowboarders and looking for a social, non-competitive platform to hone their talent.
Cardrona Sales and Marketing Manager Nadia Ellis says the school holiday camps and season long programme will use top ski and snowboard coaches to take the youths through all the different styles and disciplines of their sport.
"This is going to be fantastic for those kids who loved Cardrona Ski and Snowboard School's ‘Hobbits' or ‘Skiwees' training camps when they were first starting out but now need something more," she says.
"You might see The Academy riding a feature in the park, thrashing through some race gates or hiking to the summit for some freshies.
"It will be a chance to open their eyes to the different aspects of skiing and snowboarding in a fun, social environment."
Time will be allocated to racing, gravity-X, halfpipe, slopestyle and big mountain, so the kids gain a good overview of all aspects of life after ski/snowboard school.
Ms Ellis says while top coaches will be leading the programme the participants will have input on the plan for the day.
"These experienced and older kids appreciate a little more freedom, compared with the more formal ski/snowboard programmes. The coaches will be available to chat at the start and end of each day and celebrate everyone's progress."
The Academy will run a ‘Sunday Shred', 10-week programme, starting on July 3. The School Holiday Camps run Monday to Thursday throughout July.
