Salomon Snowboards announced that they are again partnering with NZsnowboard.com to bring you the Salomon Snowboards Scholarship.

Lasts years event was super successful because entering is so simple. It doesn't matter whether it's a cell phone or a HD video camera, all the entrant needs to do is spend a day on the mountain having fun with their mates or parents filming their best tricks. Edit it all together and boom it's done.
Working with our stable of world-class athletes we hope to offer the talented young snowboarder support, instruction and mentoring as well as hardware from Salomon Snowboards and outerwear from Bonfire. Robett Hollis will be mentoring the winner again - this is a key to this scholarships success. We don't want to just throw them a bunch of gear and send them on their way.
This is not only an opportunity to scout for fresh talent but also to support young snowboarders in New Zealand. Competition and sportsmanship are really important in any sport - we want to foster this right from the outset.
We hope that this will highlight the Junior Nationals and get even more young riders involved. Cardrona and Mt Ruapehu have been really supportive and are offering a season pass for the winner.
The format for the competition will be kept simple - entrants upload a video segment of their riding fiNZsnowboard.com, finalists will be announced on 25th September 2011 on NZSnowboard.com. The final segment of judging will be a meet and greet at Cardrona with the Salomon Snowboards Team Manager.
Some words from last year's winner Michael Mcmillan "This has helped me out so much, made things heaps easier and helped get me overseas. Robett is really cool to deal with especially when talking with sponsors and managing everything"
Michael spent the Southern Hemisphere Summer in Breckenridge this link shows clearly why he won last year's scholarship and we are hoping for more of the same this year http://www.nzsnowboard.com/articles/1156/video__michael_mcmillan_at_breckenridge. We are 100 % behind Michael and so stoked to have him on the team for 2011 - keep an eye out for him this season.
