Season passes are a cheap way to use the ski & board facilities if you plan to visit the mountains more than 7 - 10 days in the year at one area. If you purchase these passes early you can save a bundle. Usually when you purchase one, you are offered discounted passes at other ski & board areas and activities. Some ski & board areas also offer reciprical discounts with oversea resorts.

There are too many options to mention so use the table below for adult prices as a guide. Click on the ski area in the table to link directly to that ski areas pricing options.

Multi mountain passes are available, notably:

  • The CHILL 11 mountain pass; Hanmer Springs, Mt Lyford, Temple Basin, Craigieburn, Broken River, Cheeseman, Porters, Mt Olympus, Fox Peak, Dobson & Round Hill.
  • the nzskipass; The Remarkables, Coronet Peak & Mt Hutt.
  • the Queenstown pass; The Remarkables & Coronet Peak.
  • the Mt Ruapehu pass; Whakapapa & Turoa

Their is also the option of 2, 3, 4, 5 anytime passes and up to 10 out of 12 day passess depending which ski & board area you are purchasing them from. Make sure you know the difference before buying as an 'anytime pass' is valid for the entire season and 'x out of x days pass' expires so many days after you first activate it.

Also to consider if you don't want to commit to a number of days preseason, a number of ski & board areas sell Frequent Cards. These cards provide discounts that pay for themselves after about 2 visits. i.e. nzski.com frequent discount card costs $75 early season and provides at $20 discount off an adults day pass.
