For up-to-date weather conditions, please visit: The mountain is no longer being patrolled so all ski area users must take responsibility for their own personal safety. Please check the avalanche risk at before heading up and always be prepared for the weather to change rapidly. There are multiple avalanche start zones within the ski area which can be dangerous after late spring snow so ski tourers please take care. Dial 111 for emergency services.

Road Conditions & Traffic


The Coronet Peak Access road is not maintained by Coronet Peak Ski Area over the summer. Please drive with care and maintain two way access at all times. We recommend chains are carried at all times on all alpine roads in New Zealand as conditions can change at any time.

We are now closed for the 2014 Snow Season. Thank you to everyone who joined us! We hope that you enjoyed the season as much as we did and we look forward to seeing you again in 2015! Mountain bikers - we'll keep this website updated when the snow clears sufficiently for you to hit the trails.

Please respect all area closures and remember parking is outside the main building in the drop zone area is not permitted until decommissioning is complete, we require this entire area to be free of vehicles for trucks and machinery to move around safely, thanks in advance for your help!
