About Queenstown Snowcats
Who's behind it all?
Queenstown Snow Cats is the brainchild of Mike Foote, a name synonymous with skiing in New Zealand's South Island.
The concept was simple, how would Mike like to spend a day?
Wake up and step into a waiting car with his favorite fat skis and a small group of like minded individuals. After a coffee from the Kingston Café and chasing the sheep off the helipad take off and lap Lorn Peak, stopping for lunch and lake views before scoring more fresh tracks and another chopper ride to an awaiting cold one.
What about Safety?
Safety is paramount!
Skiable terrain is controlled daily.
All skiers and snowboarders are given a full safety briefing and supplied with their own avalanche transceivers prior to first tracks.
What am I in for?
We operate with a maximum of 10 people skiing on any one day so you're guaranteed fresh tracks.
A standard day consists of approximately 10 one-thousand foot runs.
There are plenty of easy routes down and our experienced guides are more than happy to lead the way down to the Cat.
There's plenty of terrain for freeride specialists with seemingly endless natural features to test your skills.
All we ask is that you ride within your limits and have fun.
