Travel 23km south along the Crown Range Rd (Hw89) from Wanaka. The entrance to the mountain road is literally one km past the entrance to Cardrona on the right.
The Snow Farm access road is a well maintained mountain road. It is approximately 13km from the entrance of the access road to the lodge. It is also the access to the Snow Park and the Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground.
If you are traveling from Queenstown head north across the Crown Range, following the signs to Wanaka. Snow Farm is located just after the village of Cardrona. In Winter, we advise that you check the Crown Range Road (SH89) is open after snowfall. Chains are very often required.

About Snowfarm
Snow Farm, situated along the Cardrona Valley Road, 35km from Wanaka and 55km from Queenstown, is one of the best cross country skiing fields in the Southern Hemisphere. Snow Farm boasts over 50km of groomed trails and caters for all. No matter what your age or ability, there are many trails for you to enjoy.
Snow Farm offers both day and night skiing. Lessons with highly experienced and qualified instructors are available to book as are many programmes organised to suit you.
Snow Farm plays host to many overseas Cross Country Ski Teams as well as New Zealanders looking to get away from it all. 1500m high on the Pisa Range, you can enjoy the breathtaking views whatever you are doing. Snow Farm is open for guests and visitors all year round. There are activities to participate in even without the snow!
The Alpine Lodge can accommodate up to 60 guests at any one time and has a wide range of facilities. You can relax in the warm, comfortable accommodation, enjoy lunch overlooking the Southern Alps from the Veranda Café, let the view inspire your workout from the well equipped gym, take in a movie in the TV room, enjoy a quiet read in the library or simply let our bar staff serve you your favourite tipple.
Outside, if you want a day doing something else, there is tubing, sledding and snowshoe hire available, all popular with adults and children alike. There are also two accommodation huts with real fires to keep you warm! Snow Farm welcomes day visitors for skiing, guests just wishing to use the accommodation and those who combine the two.
